The Modern Man
The toxicity of the modern man is the need for dominance. Stronger women means weaker men? Of course the modern man’s thinking is completely flawed; yet it is he who controls the narrative. This creates an interesting opportunity to choose vulnerability, and thus exploring oneself in greater depth than perhaps many are comfortable with.
The world is changing, and it’s scaring men. Plainly put; it’s rather interesting to see which insecurities are beginning to show. The issue, if we dare to dig a little deeper, isn’t so much that women are acquiring more power — rightly so of course. But the fact that the male is being exposed by this.
The illusion of false strength is slowly fading, and what is left standing in its place is quite disappointing. Man himself refuses to confront this; his ego doesn’t allow for it. At the very root of this ‘emasculation’ rests an identity crises. A question of one’s manhood. Again, this is flawed but fascinating. Man is so afraid to confront himself and his short-comings in fear of what he’ll find. Perhaps what is there is meaningless and hollow, which renders his entire life thus far irrelevant.
Perhaps then modern man; the time has indeed arrived to confront thyself. The question however remains. What does it mean to be a man? The answer is unclear, but it doesn’t mean the question shouldn’t be asked.
