Isolate. Resolve. Overcome.

Rebellious Repetition

“There are no more deserts. There are no more islands. Yet there is a need for them. In order to understand the world, one has to turn away from it on occasion; in order to serve men better, one has to hold them at a distance for a time. But where can one find the solitude necessary to vigour, the deep breath in which the mind collects itself and courage gauges its strength?”

- Albert Camus

There will be many failures. Even embarrassments. The road to ‘success’ is punctuated by both.

Therein lay the challenge; to summon one’s courage. To, once more, set aside the ego. To recommence despite all that has gone before.

Gather yourself. Trust in the space that silence brings.

A necessary retreat. Not in body, but in spirit. A search for solitude. A moment to gather thyself.

“Although the almighty resistance lay before us physically, it is in the depth of the soul where the most obscure resistances reside and are overcome.”

If we are to endure and experience long survival we must, often, be radically transformed. The mind must cast away the old attitudes and attachments. Gather your courage and be reborn. Follow the path of the minority, past your perceived limitations. Journey from the external to the internal. Venture beyond the threshold and return as something new. Endure the crucible, annihilate the unnecessary, and find the imperishable within.

“After you fail — and you will — show up the next day. And the day after that. If you can’t train, watch. If you can’t see, listen. If you truly want to learn you can learn from everything. Eventually, you will. And you will take what you know and do, and keep doing it. And the road will rise up to meet you.”
